June finally enjoying her 18yo Pete, what a relief!
I'm doing things I never thought I would be able to do. We're jumping (sensibly) instead of throwing himself over the jump! I found this stuff brilliant and have recommended it to other people.
I have used Liquid Caalm on my 18h Dutch Warmblood Pete. He could be very sharp and spooky and what we call his "Warmblood stupid brain" would kick in when he was in what to him was a stressful situation. There was no logic to it, sometimes he'd just lose the plot in his stable!! (We called it having a Pete moment).
As he got older it became less often, but would start if I took him to a show or any new environment. I saw the advert on Facebook and having tried every calmer on the market I thought why not. I put it in his feed every morning for a couple of weeks, and noticed the difference when I rode him at home and especially if I took him out anywhere.
Instead of an hour or so of arguments he would settle much quicker and stopped panicking and running off with me. (Scary on a horse of that size!!). He's now a much happier horse and so much more settled and willing to try his best. He's 19 now, but it's taken many many years to understand how he thinks. This made life so much more fun, I still use it if necessary but I think now he understands that we're not out for his blood so to speak, he's lovely to be around.
