Kate Smith gives honest and very welcome feedback
Making horses more comfortable is something that Hack Up prides itself on achieving. It's a HUGE tick box for me!!
As promised a few paragraphs summarizing our story and how Hack Up has been a game changer for us and our horse in my own words.
We purchased Flash 3yrs ago, and only a few weeks after we bought him he suffered an injury requiring surgery and substantial rehab.
We first noticed the persistent snorting when hand grazing him during his rehab - and found that living in on box rest during the spring was almost intolerable for him, he got no respite from the constant need to snort - at times he caused his nose to bleed.
We got through that summer and he was turned away for the winter.
Bringing him back into work the following April, the snorting had become worse - being in a stable gave him no respite. We had to stop riding him as the head shaking became quite violent with little mini rears and trying to strike his nose with his front legs.
Nose nets gave little relief - having got through the spring we started to see similar symptoms appear again early autumn.
Through the Winter he is fine and enjoyed a great season out with hounds.
The intention was for him to event this year - but Covid struck and Flash was furloughed. Once the rape started to flower the head shaking and snorting started again - this time it appeared worse as he wasn’t even able to eat from a bucket on the floor - coming into the stable again offered no respite. At this point we were considering acupuncture and I put a post up on FB to enquire what sort of success people had had. From this post a thread went up to recommend Hack Up, so we thought we would give it a go, I completed the online questionnaire and Flash's supplement arrived. Initially we had difficulty getting him to eat it but with a lot of after sales advice and support and a bit of peppermint Flash started eating it and to be honest we haven’t looked back. The snorting has gone, and the head shaking is minimal - but only on hot days with high pollen counts - it has been a total game changer.
Thank you! And your hand sanitiser is lovely! Being a sufferer of dermatitis on my hands the thought of applying 75% alcohol to them several times a day filled me with dread, but absolutely no reaction at all!
