Tracey keeps on using the Liquid Caalm on her lovely grey mare.
I think it’s a combination of the supplements and training/work load that’s helping her settle but I am so pleased with her behavior lately.
I normally just use the Liquid Caalm when I take her out in the lorry for a clinic, lesson, competition etc I normally give her one shot in some chaff and I pour it on some chopped apples as she tends to pick those out. I do this about half an hour to an hour before we leave and then when we get to our venue I give her another shot in some more chaff/chopped apples while she’s in the lorry before I tack up. Most of the time it seems to take the edge off her, but on the odd occasion it hasn’t.
The last few times we’ve been out she’s been a pleasure loads/travels really nicely, stands quietly on the lorry while I’m tacking up and has settled really well in our lessons/clinics. I think it’s a combination of the supplements and training/work load that’s helping her settle but I’m so pleased with her behaviour lately I’ve entered our first dressage comp of the year which is in a couple of weeks time - this will be our first competitive outing for about six months so that will be another test.
