I use Hack Up Bespoke's Liquid Caalm and it’s epic! I use it in a pattern now that I understand its effect on Velvet. We use a syringe, 25ml 10 mins prior to loading. She isn’t keen on loading, but fine travelling once you get moving. Since using, I can see on the camera that she bows her head and is super relaxed, but without losing her stability. She doesn’t eat during travelling, she is literally just very chilled. She unloads at the destination beautifully and is consistent regardless of where we take her (we are out at least once a week either training or competing).

Affiliated/unaffiliated dressage, showing, clinics, you name it we go! If we are going to a venue with an indoor school, she benefits from another syringe of 25ml 30 mins prior to our test. It’s testament that we have always completed every single test, calmly, safely and without any incident. She rides consistently even after administering a dose.

I also give her a daily dose of 25ml in the last week of each scheduled hormone jab (four times per year) (as the effects of the jab have worn off and she can be particularly uptight and sensitive). It means safe handling, a calmer/more pleasant unicorn to deal with and means I can continue to ride without any concern of explosions etc. It’s basically a staple of Velvet’s supplements and we wouldn’t be without it!
