Zeolite

This is a crushed mineral with high levels of crude ash that has a heavy clay-like texture that is not digested; it just travels through the digestive system. Our formulators use this in carefully balanced ratios with other natural ingredients to support your horse.

Zeolite originates from the Greek Zeo (to boil) litos (a stone). Zeolites are crystaline aluminosilicates of alkali and akaline earth metals which have an infinite three dimensional atomic structure. Due to the pore size and their absorption properties they are the most important inorganic cation exchanges.

Zeolite minerals were thought to be uncommon and found only in fissures in volcanic rock, however, in the early 1950's and 60's zeolites were found in abundance in large deposits of altered volcanic tuff in the western United States and in altered volcano marine tuffs in Italy and Japan.

The form of zeolites used in animal and humans is called Clinopitilolite. Zeolite has a negative charge so it attracts positively charged ions (toxins) removing them from the gut.

Zeolite is a remarkably versatile mineral that is being used in both animal and human supplementation. It is being used mainly for cleansing and companies are developing new ways of using it in a colloidal form to enable it to cleanse other parts of the body and not just the digestive system.

There are many studies being carried out on this amazing mineral and hopefully, in the future, we will know more about its special properties.
